Downrigger Question

Hi All,

I want to hear from the people who have downriggers setup on their kayaks.

How much do you think having a downrigger affects your stability?

How much drag does it create?

Is it a total pain in the ass to keep your kayak going straight?

Do you think having a rudder is necessary if you're going to use a downrigger?

I'm seriously considering getting a downrigger setup for fishing for trout. I don't have a rudder and am a little concerned about how much of a pain it's going to be to paddle while using this thing.

I'd like to hear pros and cons for people who actually use these things.
