The lake has come up 14 feet from this series of storms.  Still a LONG ways to go (another 24 feet to be exact) but this is a great start.  We will be leaning hard on the USACE to fill it up, so hopefully she she looks better next fall and topwater returns to normal.

I just got off the dirty brown water they call Lake Mendocino. The lake is loaded with debris, but the level has come up a lot. They have opened the concrete barriers on the dirt parking lot side too.

It's not real fishable yet, but it was nice to get on the water and build a little WAF!

CHEERS!

Appearantly this is a la nina year, which should mean more rain than usual - which is great for us.  I don't know how much snow melt gets into that res, but if there's a fair amount then it may well come up this spring when the other half of the precipitation from that storm comes down.

Unfortunately it means less rain for the southeast and georgia is parched as it is...
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
