I had an unexpected reprieve from babysitting today so hit Lake Chabot by 10:00 AM...a little nippy (nothing compared to Tote's adventure, though), gray skies, no wind, flat muddy water, and no bite. Fish were hanging sporadically at about 15 feet but didn't like my offerings of a silver/black holographic needlefish, a firetiger needlefish tipped with a nightcrawler, a broken-back shad Rapala with a wooly bugger teaser, and a trout-patterned KastMaster. They didn't seem to like what bank fishermen were serving up either.

Nonetheless, it was great to get out on the water for my first time in 2008. I headed home about 1:30 and look forward to my next outing.

BTW, the launch ramp, which IMO is already not PWC-friendly, had gravelly soil dredged up in mounds along the edge of the cement boat ramp where it meets the water...and the floating launch ramp has been gated. Maybe more Del Valle launches are in my future.

Great Report J, gotta love the glass, way to get out there.
