ELK and BAM

Would someone please explain what/where ELK and BAM are? I wasn't around last year and I need an education. Thanks.

well elk is the anual fishing gathering and it is at the elk launch site
bam is bendo at mendo  which is bendo (fish on) mendo is mendocino lake.
I believe but im sure there are others here that have a ton more info about these events.

BAM=Bendo At Mendo. Another annual fishing tournament held at Lake Mendocino in Ukiah.
