met up with kz and the boys at the old-school bait shop at loch-lomond bout 930am. we loaded up on ghost shrimp and caravaned to the beach. we had an easy launch and a pleasant paddle out to the fishing grounds. sean spread us out in armada formation for maximum coverage. i immediately got down business. kicked up my feet, uncorked my wine and opened the cheetos. spent the afternoon chatting with the guys and watching the clouds go by. i like sturgeon fishing.

Yep... nice weather... good company... no fish... a little mud to end the day.

Next time.

Yeah, I managed to catch a very small shark and a decent size buzz. Great company, nice weather, and got out just in time to avoid any mud at China Camp. Look forward to the next time.

:smt044 Geez, you make sturgeon fishing sound pretty enticing! Never again will I believe those guys who say it's boring sitting for hours!

Yup, about the only thing to complain about weatherwise were those damn patches of clouds that would roll in and cover the sun.  My reel got so cold I thought it was gonna fuse to my hand!

Maybe next time the fishies will be more cooperative?  I'm running out of room on my belt for sturgeonless trip notches...

Yeah, definitely good times.  Caught a couple of leopard sharks and had a missed set... that would have been the sturgeon.  :smt001  Had to bail early at 2:00 to pick the sister-in-law up in Mill Valley by three, so I missed the best part of the tide... will get it next time.

A pic of the conditions as we launched... and the conditions as returned... turtle tracks and all.  That's Gabriel giving the international symbol for "Mud Rules!".

Mud, that stuff is rough. Maybe some kinda mud "snowshoe" thingy would make the trudge in the muck a little easier?

BTW I think this is what Dan's kayak seat must of looked like after his tangle w/ the taxman. :smt003 That's what mine would look like anyway!
