10 am to 4:30 pm total 4 planter rainbows. 2 @ 1.5lbs 1 @ 4lbs 1 @ 6.11lbs. Two had red flesh. lures of the day Rapala J7 Fire Tiger on top.Trophy Stick 4.5" Silver Platter on down rigger. Serface to 20ft down. 54* serface water temp the fish come to the serface when there is a ripple on the water. Better then watching bowl games for me. Forgot camera  would of got a picture of deer trying to swim across lake. Even though Quarry has no scenery it has had lots of adventure for me. Only 5min from my house. Looking forward to the New Year with persaverance.    :fishing2

Follow-up on your report, raymac: I spent the day on the disability pier with a few of my non-yak buddies. As a group we managed to pull out a total of 8 fish, all on powerbait... lures weren't getting any attention at all. Two of the fish were about 3 lbs, the rest standard fresh planter stock. Here's the kicker for all the AOTY players. We watched 1 fish get caught from the shoreline - the only fish of the day from that shoreline as far as we saw. It reportedly weighed in at 16.5 lbs! When the lucky guy held up his trophy, it looked like a third leg. We promptly hid our 8 'dinks' in shame.

Never seen red meat from the Quarry. Would they happen to be from a different hatchery?

thanks for the report Ray! goes to show you that when they're cooperating, you got to cooperate with them! :smt003  you always get your man!(fish)
those red-meat-ones are a mystery breed,I've caught a few from SanPabloRes. and mentioned them to the DFG rep. that plants there.
He said that it's unusual and dosen't get many reports of them showing up.

i think a steelhead "jumps tank" every once and a while at the hatcheries :smt102
...they did have a light SALMON FINISH to them.

I've seen and heard tale of quite a few huge trout coming out of there...  almost shocking, considering the size of the lake.
