Livewell?

I need a little help from the experts. I need a livewell for my p-15. I want to do a little bass fishing and will need a livewell. Any idea what will work best for a p-15? I have been looking but can't find what I want. I have the Plano behind the seat so need something that will fit in the tankwell. Any ideas? Pumps and/or ideas?

The live well possibilities have grown tremendously in the past few years, especially if you want to buy a pre-built or a kit. I started out my La Jolla patrols with the basic 5-gal round bucket (you can get that sexy orange if you go to Home Depot). The cans are great for bait, but bass are cramped - I highly recommend you go with a rectangular tank.

Hook1 makes an excellent tank, generally larger the Liquid Fishing Thresher. Or you can buy the Retrofish DIY bait tank CD-ROM and buy the parts locally. The Shimano Bristol Bay portable live well is another option. Buy the bag and you'll get an upgraded plumbing kit and maybe save a little dough through Anglers Yak Shack. Here's a link for the bag, scroll down a bit: http://www.kayakfishingzone.com/Gear/icast2007.html.  I used one on the recent 3.5-day Islander trip - the Bristol Bay is very solid. All of the pre-made tanks are a bit spendy. Both fit in a Prowler tankwell behind the tackle box.

I really have not had a problem with the old Plano standby. Just a bucket with holes and a spring loaded trap door. Just dunk it in the water every now and then if you are constantly paddling or leave it in the water if you are drifting.
I find it is a lot easier to reach back and bring it into my lap to get the bait out too.
I would only consider having a live well for my catch; but since I am mostly C&R I don't have a need for one.
