After staying home waiting in am for the Comcast cable guy to get the Comcast version of Tebo hooked up and rewording him with a doz (Christmas) holiday cookies i had to get a fish fix.
Met a couple at the launch ramp. They said they were new to kayaking.Had a couple of Ocean Kayaks. I witness the female catching a rainbow on a rapala.
As for me lost an estamated 10lber on first hookup at the to small net. 18" hoop. Fish was hanging over both sides lure came unbuttoned and fish flopped back into lake I wanted to cry. Hooked the fish on a Rapala J7 firetiger jointed minnow. After that let down a fish here and there 14" to 24" Last fish at 4:30  was 24" 6.5 lber hooked on a 4.5" Sliver Plater Trophy Stick. This lure has hooked me 7 trout on the last 2 outings at the Quarry.

Hello Ray and All
Ariane and I launched the kayaks in Quarry Lakes in Fremont yesterday in search of a piscatory adventure.  After trolling for a mere 20 minutes, Ariane bellowed across the wind-blown turbulent waters with leery incredulity, "I got one!?!?" I saw the bend and strain of the rod and instantly knew it was more than just a keeper.  She singlehandedly fought the aquatic beast--armed with only a simple walmart spinning reel and an insatiate and ravenous hunger for fresh trout--as I rowed with all my might to catch up to her towed kayak.  Gasping for breath, I was closing in and preparing to moor my plastic yacht alongside hers when she deftly landed what seemed at prima facie to be a flagging and spent trophy by flipping it prostrate into my yak and at my feet.  Whap! Slap! Pow!  It immediately mustered the strength and resolve to make one last valient floundering and flouncing fray, which nearly capsized us all before finally being quashed and restrained by the weight of my chest waders and legs.  We continued to troll Rapalas and Kastmasters behind the kayaks for about three more hours with a burn in our muscles, reminiscent thoughts of the battle in our minds, and a welling hunger in our bellies--without further success, however.  I honored the bagged spoil with a few photos before returning home to eviscerate the ultimately pan-fried feast--delicious!
