Crabfest (unofficial) bodega bay Jan 2027 has 5 weekends. Reserving for 22-24th

 Can Crabfest be revived or is it dead and buried forever
And what happened to kill it

Insurance, insurance, insurance... bond 1mil and dealing with sonoma qovernment.  I would think it could be revived in a low key way without a lot of work. We go to see others and play at the beach.

When making reservations on line, chose the calendar version, not the maps version.  click the first day you want to camp on your preferred campsite.  The next 10 days will now be active and you can chose up to 10.  I made mine for Wednesday, the 20th, through Sunday the 24th.  I don't want to arrive that early, I really want to arrive Thursday, but can't make that until after midnight tonight and I really don't want to lose that site to someone faster on the draw than I. 
BUT
I can later cancel Wednesday and get a refund back to my credit card, thereby securing the site in advance of anyone else snagging it for that weekend.  I'm NOT scamming the system, I called the Sonoma County Parks and Rec, spoke to their reservations department and they told me to do that.   He said just be sure and not forget to cancel.  I also asked him if showing up on the first night of the reservation was required as I had heard or read that the entire reservation will be voided if you don't show up.  He said no, if I make the reservation, they will keep that site open the entire length even if I don't show for any of it. 
Anyways, we are in site 99 on the Jetty.
