How fishing is like dating

A little PM exchange I was having with Joel prompted me to start this thread.  Feel free to add your thoughts on "How Fishing Is Like Dating".

I'll start the ball rollin ...

* Dating is like fishing, only you're using a different bait.
* When you feel a nibble, set the hook ... hard!
* If you miss the bite, put your bait back out and try again.

Come on guys.  Give me your best stuff.  I'm going to write a book on this.  Then I'm going to followup up with the sequel "How To Fish And Date at the Same Time", with special chapters on WAF and GAF.  And part 3 of the trilogy will be "Why Fishing Is Better Than Dating".

fishing is like dating.....it starts out by going to the ATM machine FIRST  

fishing is NOT like dating because

* "catching a hog" is not a good thing(unless you are into that)
* you can't net them, gaff them, or club them over the head
* stringers are not sex toys

When you're dating it's catch and release.  When you're married, it's catch and keep.  Once you reach your limit, your done.  Practice catch and release.

..........because when a little attention is shown to your bait you feel complimented and will continue to provide more bait even after the interest has cooled..........

Since I got married, I don't seem to spend as much time on either.

New species and perfect specimens are always exciting.

If you don't use protection you can get burned.

With fishing, you want the largest legal fish.  With dating you want the smallest legal one!
