Happy in the sense that it was a gorgeous day to be on the water. We (Ahoy) and I left our shuttle vehicle at Wholer at 6:00 this am and proceeded to Memorial Beach for an early launch. There was flurry of drift boats and pontoon boats. Almost all the accessible walk in spots had bank fishermen but not as many as last Saturday. The water color was 18" to 24" throughout the day with clearer water lower on the drift. I tried to get a report from most of the drifters and the response was basically the same..........couple of bites here there..... one pontoon saying he landed a fish and one drift boat catching one. Ryan (Ahoy) had a fish on for about ten seconds and I had one good take-down/shake but that was it. All-in-all it was a GREAT way to spend first day of a New Year. Ready to do it again after the rains!
