Lake Pardee...? :smt012  is the lake that can not touch the water? :smt011  how you're gonna fish there w/ kayak...? :smt009

Here is a nice article by Tom Stienstra
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2004/03/25/SPG5A5QPLO1.DTL

"The focus here is often on fishing, from boat, shore and float tubes (full waders required), and low-speed boating, such as with a canoe or kayak (10-foot minimum). Water-contact sports are prohibited, such as swimming, personal watercraft, boarding, tubing and skiing."

I believe the same rules apply to all EBMUD reserviors including San Pablo.

Scott

Thanks for the clearfy for me, Scott!
Last time, I went there the lady at the gate made very strong gesture about contacting the lake water w/ any part of our body..., so I went Amador & New Hogan Lake instead...
but I saw the PB guys at the ramp had a nice stringer tho...
maybe, I'll try next time.

Dilbeck,  For the Loch Lomond opener it's just the same only, people start lining up at the gate as early as 4am.  Gate opens at 6.  The line can and has backed all the way down to Zayante road!  Would suck to live any where near that road on that day. Parking fills up fast for those not near front of line.  Of course there will allways be the guy that can't back his trailer right for the 4th time, and those slow downs definetly get temper riled.
I would suggest going the very next day or wait for the following Mon.  Lake will be vacant fish aren't going anywhere.  The few weekends following the opener are always zooey!

Thanks for the heads up!  It's something I've always wanted to do so I'll probably end up doing it anyway.  Now I know to look out for the lunatics.  BTW, are you speaking from experience or word of mouth?

Fish aren't going anywhere but home with the earlybirds.  I've always wanted to catch some holdovers from this lake and I figure the best way to do it is fish it early in the season.  I might fish it during spring break in the middle of the week too.

BTW, sorry for the threadjack Scott.

Michael

Loch Lomond is definitely nutso on opening day. Not that it would stop me from going but there are definitely mellower days to go than opening day. See you out there.

Been there done that!  With friend who has a boat.  Both times I made the opener with him we got there at "O Dark 30" The very 1st opener I made with him we arrived just around 4am and we were #8 in line!  A few seasons later we arrived at the line at 5am and we were back something like 20.
I don't bother attempting to make the opener now.  Not worth the hassels of dealing with crowds, parking.  Since I have Mondays off, I go then, and the lake has usually been empty, calm!
