40 to 50'

I think anywhere in that huge area can produce,

What are ya using for bait?

It would be great to be able to use 2 rods out there to go for strippers too

I heard of PB's trolling Yozuris, and baiting with anchovies for strippers recently..

The Hawgs have been coming on Bullheads out in the bay

I don't know, I guess I would be tempted to use something that both Dino's and strippers would pick up,

Maybe some frozen shad............. or a double hook set up with pileworms and eel on the other..

  Good luck ............. Danglin

Grass shrimp, grass shrimp, grass shrimp.  I've caught a few dinos and they've all come in on grass shrimp... and I've only caught them on single hook rigs.  I tried the two opposing hook rig last year and didn't get one bite.  The first cast that I went back to a single hook rig (Montezuma Slough, of course), I hooked up... 56".  Don't know what that's all about, but it's grass shrimp and a single 4 to 6/0 hook for me.

Tote, is it just you and Chub tomorrow?  I'm waffling, but would LOVE to be there, even if it is going to be cold.

Yep, so far it is just us. Yaks are loaded and gear is getting put in the SUV right now.
Where can I get grass shrimp near there?? I am totally unfamilar with the area.
I will try Broadway bait and Tackle in Sacto on my way through and see what I can come up with.

I've never bought bait around the slough... there's supposed to be two places locally, both right in Suisun City and another in Fairfield (as far as I know).  I usually get my bait at a little dive on Hwy 37, but it's a bit out of the way for the slough, so I may just take my chances on the locals... not sure if they have grass shrimp.  Maybe Adam knows.

Hey Adam, you going tomorrow??

There is a bait shop in the strip mall across the street from where you turn right on Grizzly island rd ...

As you make the right turn by the Jack in the Box onto Grizzly island rd.

The Bait shop is across the street behind the Mc Donalds aproxx 100yrds, sorry for the bad directions,

There is also a long time bait shop in the down town marina area of suison city, just head towards the marina area you will find it.

It's called " Virgils " bait shop  201 Main st, Suison City (707) 425-5518

don't know when they open, , don't even know the name of the bait shop behind Mc Donalds, they just changed owners...

Grass shrimp would cover both bases for strippers/dinos, I got mine on pileworms

and have heard good things about the pileworm/eel combo, the eel stays on the hook well...Good Luck.....Danglin

Thanks,  but I have definetly been there, I've scouted that place out. There is another spot that is aprox 2 1/2 to 3 miles

towards the north. It's marked by the agriculture run off and peir.

I don't sugest it for tomarrow though, it's down the road a bit

and not a good place to get into trouble with cold and possible wind...

Good luck once Again my Friends :smt006 .......... Danglin

Leaving here in 20 minutes.
Gonna stick close to the launch I am presuming.
Being too far from the point of entry in December doesn't sound like too much fun to me.
