Yo Jfish

I have a scupper classic with the two hatches and I love it.  If you can get it for less? maybe $400 you may have a deal.  Is that the one on Craigslist right now.

Hi Jfish:

I missed out on  buying "Old Blue"  from Allen. The Scupper is a fast but a Tippy Yak. Small cockpit but I'm only 5'5". I would go for the tank well style because, I seem to roll ever time I try to reach for the back hatch. Not much secondary recovery once you start to roll.  The Scupper Yak is a wet ride. I use the foot wells for a Temp. live bait well.
The Scupper is a good value for the money for about $400 w/ seat,  Al. Aly. paddle and maybe a FF.

the scupper pro is a classic, i'm sorry i sold my old one.  it is fast and has relatively decent storage room in the W and forward hatch.

As Ernie says, it is "tippy," but I only fell out a few times after the first time.

The price seems a bit high considering what else might be on the markt right now.

Depends I think on the quality of the paddles  and seat.

I have paddled a Ocean pro scupper to 20+ years, and I would never paddle any other kayak.

I highly recommend it. I am able to keep up with the sit-in kayaks, in regards to speed.  it tracks well in the wind, and I have never fallen out of it since I bought it.  It has excellent bracing ability, and plenty of room for all of my camping and fishing gear.

The seat well is very comfortable after paddling all day, but it is important to see where your PDF hits the back of the seat well.   They don't make my model any longer which has the smooth foot wells.

good choice for a used one....got mine with the tankwell for 350 including a high backrest seat which i think cost at least 99 brand new.  350 total...added another 300 i think for the aftermarket acces.  like ff, bats, pole holder, net, club, divers fish holders, wetsuit....went to a local liquor stoe and got the milk crate for free though. :smt003

I have paddled a Scupper Pro with tank well for for about 12 years.  The only time I have rolled it is when a swell put me down on a rock.  No problem gettin it turned over and gettin back on.  I think it is very stable.  The seat well is deep and comfortable.  I have forgotten my seat and paddled for a couple of hours with no discomfort.  I can't do that with any of my other yaks.  There is room for two flush mount rod holders next to and behind the seat, with a nice spot for a Scotty mount at the front of the footwell.  Plenty of room for a FF and GPS.  The only negative for me is that the forward hatch is a long reach and awkward to get to.

I think $550 is a little high for a used one.
