Some BASKers reported their car window was jimmied and a wallet stolen at ~10AM this past Sunday. It was early enough that that the parking lot was pretty empty when they launched; they think the thief was probably out of view, but scoping them out as they geared up.

Please, Please fellow kayaker/fisherfolk, do not leave your wallets/purses/computers/cellphones in your car at the putins. The thief that breaks into your car and scores will be breaking into the next car with racks looking for the next score! Try to hide stuff like duffel bags and backpacks, but take your wallet/purse in a drybag with you in your boat, it's safer there.

Think of the thieves as the human equivalents of a Yosemite Valley bear, only stupider.

And I did PM the BASKer to tell them the same thing.

Thanks
Mike
