yes i'm making fun of xj-19...

launched out of bullhead flat @ 8ish.  anchored up in 10 feet outside RR. went through 5 or 6 bat rays...then finally, FINALLY... i landed my first sturgeon on the yak. 49" taped on the side of the prowler. JPS was the bait.
water was PERFECT.

still haven't gotten my camera fixed after busting it tuna fishing.  ah well.

what a blessing- finally landed and released a sturgie, and tomorrow i'm off to China to pick up our long awaited daughter....

thanks folks...

Guitarzan-- we will have to hook up sometime- not sure i really have any "secret spots"...they're all public knowledge, and my hunches of what's biting are SUCKING right now.  I'm sure i'll be limited to brief outings now...ah well.
I actually can't wait for a little anchoring up off rat rock...maybe i can actually manage another sturgeon.  And of course, winter stripers up at bel marin keys is always fun.

Jmairey -- xj-19?  what is that?  why the "secret" name?

I'm just razzing ya on that....

here's the pics of the real catch:
