11-8 to 11-10

Me and a friend are going on our first kayak fishing trip Thurs-sat 11-8-07 and want to start on a lake to work out the bugs before we get on the ocean. We are thinking Amador, Clear Lake or Almanor or maybe even Rye Patch Resevoir in Nevada where they have Walleye.

Does anyone know of any special events that would be good for us to go to? 

a safety class "event" should be first!.....hope you have a good time, where ever you are going.  I started in the lakes and then the bay and NOW the ocean, but it took more than a day to get comfortable, but that's JUST ME.
