Anyone launching out for the season opener at Linda Mar?  I'm off the whole week so let me know if you need help pulling up those heavy crab pots.  I'm currently working on putting pvc pipe outriggers behind the seat of my scupper classic for extra stability.

I am on the fence about going out. Swell looks like it is building to a decent size for the weekend.

I am keeping an eye on the swell too. I am not trying to have the kayak version of Deadliest Catch, but if it is doable, I will probably try.

Hey Mooch how have you been?

Hey Tim - I'm doing good. How's life in the farm? Been hunting lately?

Life is good. I'm in Harris feed lot now, so no more ranching for me. I had been hunting daily, but I have slowwed down now that I got my deer, and I have pleanty of time to get a bear. I am going to start fishing off the kayak more since they are getting ready to open the Buena Vista lakes. I here they stalk it with trout from 3 to 20lbs due to the large population of stripers that eat anything they can fit in there mouths. I have never caught a trout over 3 pounds so I am shooting for one over 10. I see you are fishing Mendo lately, too bad the salmon season was so bad.

Yup, I gave up on the salmon early BUT I'm still trying to beat your big striper catch at Linda Mar '04....to this day, I haven't seen any kayaker  come even close to those hogs you caught  :smt002 To this day, I still have not caught an ocean striper  :smt011

Really??? Well when they run the surf this year I'll have to get you out there in waders. My year is getting full fast I just booked a bear hunt for the 17th, and snowboard season is opening the 24th, that along with my quest for a double diget trout and a public land hog has me full till the stripers start to run the beaches in the spring. Then there is Montana archery Elk and Mule deer in August.

Man, I can figure perfectly how many man toys you have and how busy your weekend can be.  Swell is high this Saturday; might be a challenge for kayak to clear the surf.  I'll be there with a friend; if the launch is iffy for kayak, I'll hitch a ride in his 2-person zodiac to drop the pots.  See you there if you decided to go.
