Santa Cruz Sunday

I'm going to be fishing early Sunday. Will probably launch from the harbor or maybe the sc wharf around 7am. Plan to paddle outside the lighthouse and along west cliff. Company is welcome.

With the nice weather forecast, Santa Cruz rockfish sounds awful tempting... even if they are the red tide-flavored variety. A buddy and I plan to paddle out of the harbor at 9:00 on Sunday. Can we catch you on the radio?

Just out of curiosity, why do you guys launch out of the harbor if you are going to fish around the lane? I launched off the wharf last time and it just seems like a much shorter paddle to the fishing.

Fishing is nice, but I enjoy a good paddle too. Making bait in the harbor is usually as easy as it comes. And free parking doesn't hurt either. But yeah, I think launching from the pier would shave off at least 20 minutes. See you on the water!

My Boat is stored at Dock A.  This is very convenient if I am around the harbor (Yellow Buoy and 1 Mile Buoy) but not so convenient if I am going somewhere else.  It was always 100% inconvenient putting it on the car every time so at least I will be partly right or partly wrong storing it at the Harbor.  This may change with time but I am stuck with it for now.

Just got a report from a friend in the north bay who pulled in a limit of flatties, all be it small ones in the 22 to 24 inch range, from berkeley. I'm having second thoughts, but I've decided to sleep on it. In case I don't make it out to SC tomorrow, I wanted to wish you tight lines. Make me jealous.
