Looking for new adventures. I see some squid caught down in the central coast (5 hour drive); however, are they caught further north? I saw some older post regarding Humboldt squid, but I’m not too sure anybody still goes out for him or are they around. The smaller ones would be great as well.

My wife and I are planning to chase some squids at Monterey on June 29 & 30.

There's not as many as down south but they show up in Bodega albeit unreliably. I don't target squid, but I bump into them by happenstance and most of the time it's July through early September.

I don't know if anyone's running Humboldt squid trips anymore out of Bodega. Cordell Bank on the deeper edge used to be a popular Humboldt squid spot, but nobody's fished it since nobody fishes Cordell anymore.

Thank you for the info. I might just need to make the long drive south.
