I got close to 200 squid this morning. It wasn't wide open, I had to work for it, but it was productive. Squid right in front of the harbor, 55' of water. Squid all over the place. Most of them were close to the bottom, but if you kept moving, you could find them suspended 50'-60' down.

Thanks for the report. Love calamari. Great stuffed and baked. The best tasting ones i ever had were always cooked by someone else that knows how to do them proper.

I was thinking the same. When there are lots of squid in the bay, in close, and the Risso's, and sea lions, and humpbacks are all going nuts, there has to be seabass around. Where do you target WSB in Monterey? In the kelp in shallow? Out deep in the squid grounds?
