Got out yesterday in Monterey first time launching the kayak and launched from Del Monte. Got out on the water at 6:30 and it was beautiful out. Sun was out for a little bit and then wind picked up later in the morning. Ended up hooking a big Smelt and using it as live bait. Lost what I thought could have been a giant fish because the Smelt came up with gashes stretching entire body. Anyways trying to go out again this week weather dependent but early morning looking nice Monday-Wednesday! Anyone who looking for a friend out on the water hit me up! Cheers and happy hunting

Thanks for the report. A giant fish on your first outing would have been epic, but even on the second outing it’ll be nearly as epic…

Thanks for the report! Glad you got out. Monterey has some monster fish. My buddy took a long ride on something big for 45min. I would trade my catch of the day just to know what it was.
