Targeting hybrid bass and stripers.   Long way to travel to find slow fishing, but here we are.

Winds are stupid strong.  Casting into the winds hoping fish are chasing Shad is the strategy.  I did catch both target species including a few outside my wish list.

Oh. My brand new waders leak. Haha.

Jimmy had the only net in the crew, so I fought my fish to him.

Thanks for the report and pictures DB. I caught lots of big Stripers in lake Texoma back then when I live in Texas.

The entire drive to Texas did have that unmistakable hellscape vibe to it.

The entire drive to Texas did have that unmistakable hellscape vibe to it.

I went to grad school in west Texas and a couple times each year, I'd drive to see my family in Omaha (thru the Oklahoma panhandle and then diagonal across Kansas). While Kansas is flat and boring (well, except for the world's largest hand-dug well, the world's largest ball of twine, etc.), the OK panhandle is the most desolate place I've ever seen--more tumbleweeds than people..
