Either End of the lake is accessible by cart or hand with your 'yak, no trailer launch. If they close the barriers like Dan (Mahi Mahi) said Corps would for the weekend on the South end and you don't really HAVE to do Crappie cove, you may wish to use the lot on the North end. There is a nice Day-use lot that is a fairly easy roll to the water.

Good luck, Kiel.

I'm more than likely going to fish Mendo on Saturday. I'll try and put up a report on Saturday evening if I go.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Kiel - the only campsites available is right behind the ranger station (the opposite side of the dam)  They open at 7:30AM and all the sites are first come first serve. IMO: Camp site # 3 is the best.

You might want to secure a site first before going fishing - believe it or not, but most of the sites got full by the time we got back to camp. I'm glad I picked out a nice site before we went fishing that morning  :smt002

Oh, and try to stay away from the RV's ....some of 'em run their generators before they go to bed  :smt013 :smt011
