Best Stealth Surf Launch and Land Video

I watched many videos, and this is the best one for the Stealth kayak.

Thanks Paul!  This is da way.  I'm glad our shore is a little less turmoilic*...

The fail section at the end of the video reminds me of my 2 surf zone classes, and my beaching at Muir last Sunday.

Michael definitely thinks of surf launches as being fun and exciting.

This is a good one, I use most those techniques! Running cowboy style but gonna work on that side saddle as well it looks smoother. Those waves are alot more like Ocean Beach than Muir.


Would be good to set up a surf practice hookup. HMB, is good for launch and land practice, breaks a little further out and I have heard Bodega has decent surf closer too the big rock but guessing that surf doesn't get to shore. It can be fun when you go out with no gear and a willingness to end up in the water, I would probably go with a wetsuit. Best time I had in the surf was at San Dollar Beach in Big Sur but that's a bit of a trek.

I will be interested in surf practice hookup, but not sure I want to drive 5 hours to get there.  I might be interested in hosting one at Mendocino or  Sonoma coast.  There is a great practice spot only 5 minutes from my house, MacKerricher State Park.

Depending on conditions, of course, but as a general principle, I think of Mackerricher as a more advanced site due to the beach steepness and rip currents. But being right by your house Paul, you could well  become the resident expert.

For practice and skill improvements I’d look at Anchor Bay or Elk. You can get closeouts and narrow window stuff without the big rip. Just my $.02.

Thank you for your suggestions.  I am not familiar with other locations.  Love to check out Anchor Bay, but not sure about Elk, if I have to do a hike.
If you want to hookup to go fishing, just let me know.  I am open most days, except Sundays.

Id love to go fishing with you, but I am precluded due to health issues at the present time. If I was able I would have joined you right away when you put out the invites. I have missed kayak fishing so much as well as the time with NCKA family. I hope to change that in the not too distant future

I am sorry to hear that.  Wish for your fast recovery.  I can also take you out on my tandem kayak when you are up for it.  Take care.
