Took the camper and the kayaks for a getaway. Hard thunderstorm Sunday when we arrived. Trolled needled fish and small Rapala Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday overcast and light rain, so stayed off the water. I suck at trout fishing I guess. Marked lots of fish from 25’ to bottom. For zero bites. Probably should have bought some worms. Thought I had some gulp worms, but not in fishing bag. Still a good time, big soft serve cones for $6 at Marina. Fresh fudge of multiple varieties at Strawberry store.

Sounds like a fun trip, even if no fish.  I'm convinced trout are among the pickiest fish out there - especially in the summer.

For years we went to Donner and also the lakes basin.   Wife says, why didn’t we go here?  Closer and beautiful.
