2 Days Fishing w/ Moo (my mentor) @ Mendocino

Moo finally came over for some fishing.  We spent 2 days rockfishing and enjoyed great weather.  He showed me that he is still at a different level than I am.

Thanks for sharing, Paul. Great water! Sorry yo guys didn’t get your flatfish. I notice many Hobie pedalers continue to pedal after hooking up a fish. What is the strategy in this?

Correct me if I'm wrong but it's similar to the charters that keep trolling after a hookup to set the hook...paddle guys kinda stop and battle it out...

I’m fishing Russian Gulch with Paul, anyone else interested?
Gonna be a day of Catching!!!

As for peddling after hook up, I’m a Outback guy, I like to  stop peddling,tire the fish  a while and land him on the right side of my kayak. Being right handed  I use that hand for the net, it works well for me!
It doesn’t matter if everyone doesn’t do it the same , just find what method lands fish for you and perfect it! Practice helps.

Fall fishing is upon us!

Nice work as always Paul!!!

I pedal forward for trout, Kokanee and salmon to counter forward runs, and a bit for halibut as it sometimes helps flatten them out for gaffing. But not for RF and lings.

I truly do not know what I do after hookup.  I dont remember pedaling.  but I net with my left.  no Dom hand.   my dominant hand is busy!!
