Someone asked about rigging up a paddle kayak a few days ago, and I mentioned I mounted a Garmin up front and center on my Santa Cruz Raptor. I finally took some pics of the install - I think it works pretty well.

I used duct seal to stick the transducer into the hull, as I've done a few times before. Since this kayak has a big hatch, I can fit my battery box in the hull too.  I used a clamp to hold the box to the hatch cover strap.

For cables, I drilled a 5/8" hole, and used a grommet, and can fit both power and transducer cable through. I 3d printed a vent cover to give the cables a little protection, and to keep splashes off the hole. I ran the wires, and used a little extra nub of duct seal on the inside of the hole, around the wires, to help seal it.

So far so good - no leaks at all, and I think it looks nice and clean, from the outside at least.
