I wish I could post something other than a meagre report, but there you go, one dink striper before the winds came up.

At least I got the targetted species this time! used the secret forebay striper trolling lure on 6lb test on an ultralight so at least the dink was able to bend the rod pretty good.

Nice work man! I took one look at the wind report and bailed. Hopefully it will die down and it will be on again.

congrats dude, anytime a guy can get on and off the water at the pacheco wind tunnel in one piece, i consider it a huge success. the fish is a sweet bonus.

John,

Thanks for letting me test out your kayak in the wind. I can tell I have a few things to learn before I could handle those winds in San Luis like you did. I need to build up some muscles!  :smt003

I did not catch anything, but had quite and adventure! After you left the wind slowed down a tad, but is was still pretty strong. I decided to make a stop in Gilroy and relieve that catching itch. :smt003  I caught a couple of dinks also, but it took the skunk smell off.  :smt005

Thanks again and hope we have a better luck next time.  :smt006

Bill, water is high, clear and the weeds are not too bad. So I think it's an option for a bit. bailing probably
smart, but you probably would have had 5 in the time I got the one.  From 6 to 9:30 it was fine.
too bad we launched at 7:30,  :smt005.  you should consider an early attack on tuesday morning if
you can get away.

Compa, it's always a pleasure fishing with somebody with your range of fishing experience! If you can paddle a
scupper pro (one of the more narrow of the fishing kayaks) in that wind you are all set! maybe after all that
floattubing and your focus on freshwater, a hobie would be a good choice for you? you can just keep using
the leg muscles1

Bulldog, if you visit the silli valley thread on the sniffer you will see the 8-lb "trout" compa likes to pull up,  :smt002.

Bulldog,

It's not really a trout. It's posted over here:
