sean the footage is great but you can do better. there is one last element that is missing from their film. hot chicks in bikinis. just do it.

Sweet!

My favorite parts are when dude's line gets wrapped around his foot, when the tarpon pulls that one cat in the water, and when the guy gets his line wrapped around the bow of the boat.

Fishing Follies. Good stuff.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Scwafish, I "discovered" kayak fishing for myself while staying for 2 months in a house on big pine key (like halfway down), mid april thorugh mid june 2004. (I'd been hit by one hurricane while staying in mexico for 6 months, wanted out of the keys so I didn't get hit by 2 in the same year!).

Knowing what I know, I'd say the end of may and beginning of june is a good call for that area.

It's real different from CA and Mex both, but it's still the US, so you should definitely consider it. you could probably fly in with your gear, rent yaks and a house with a slip for a few weeks and have a real good fishing time.

Best,
J

here's a link to some of my fishing logs from back then:

I agree... that's one sweet mothership.  I too have been fantasizing about catching one of those ~100 pound tarpon from a yak.  All of those OLN fishing shows planted that seed in my mind some time ago.
