I got a Newport NK180 Pro motor for Christmas to replace my broken Torqeedo (RIP). I took my Torqeedo batteries and the new motor to a local marine mechanic to see if he could get them to work with the Newport. They won't. Damn proprietary technology...

So I need a recommendation for a battery. I use a PA14, mostly in Monterey Bay from the CG pier.

Baby #2 is on the way this year, so money and fishing days are limited. It's better to buy quality once rather than buy junk multiple times though. TIA.
Always on the prowl in my PA14, except for most days. Then I have to settle for dreaming.

I've got a 100 amp hour Dakota Lithium battery used only about 6 times. It's in excellent shape with plenty of charges and life left and best part...it weighs 17 lbs.
I paid $800 for it, make me an offer if it sounds like what you need/want.
With gratitude and humility

The 100 amp hour Dakota, what did you use it for? Could it run a small trolling motor?
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

yes, all day! I bought a 12v 100 AH from DC House to run my trolling motor. Liked it so much a put 2 of them in my trailer and can go 4 days and barely touch the charge. 100 amp solar to[s them up during the day, I also run 100 watt solar on the kayak to charge when I'm not running it

They sell a 24volt 200 AH reasonably and have a 3+2 year warranty. DChouse.com

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Thanks for the recommendation. 40lb+ is a lot. I guess that’s what more money fixes.
