I am in Texas for a family member funeral.   Got some time after the funeral so went fishing for catfish at Lake Houston.   Caught some nice cats, biggest went 10+ lbs.  Might go flounder gigging tomorrow night if not too windy.

Nice catfish, Sonny!

Sorry to hear about your relatives passing.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Sorry for your loss Sonny; I hope you and your family are doing well.

When my grandfather passed away, over 20 years ago now, my dad, my uncle, and I went fishing after the service. We were on the Oregon coast, and caught many rockfish and a few lings. Afterwards we had a big cookout - fed our whole extended family and a lot of my grandfather's friends.  Was a great party!

The next day, we scattered his ashes on top of the mountain he built his house on.  Seems surreal it was so long ago now, but I still remember that weekend very well.  Looking back at that, I can only hope that I get sent off with such adoration by people who care so deeply about my memory.

+1

I'm glad you're there with your family and able to do a little of what you love, Sonny.  See you soon, bro.   :smt001
