After a workout I decided to do a trail on my way home. Noticed these fairly big tracks and got me thinking maybe it's a mountain lion? Any ideas?

Looked at some tracks online dont seem to be similar to a mountain lion.  Maybe just a big dog?

Looks like dog to me. Cats don't leave nail marks.

Was doing a light hike on the coast one time and stopped to look out over a field below. A fairly large buck deer jumped high out of thickets at high speed bounding and weaving. Large dog looking creature high bounding in hot pursuit. I was like wtf kind of dog is that big and agile?

Got back to the trailhead lot and the suspected culprit appeared - looked like one of these guys...

Borzois are such goofy looking gentle dogs. I was surprised to learn that they were bred to kill wolves.

I didn't know dogs could fly. Pooch was Amazeballs. Achieving superman flight statuses.

I was hiking with a companion that day and she didn't comment much a do upon it so I slightly questioned what I had seen. We proceeded the hike in an opposite direction of course.

Up close in the lot, size stature was impressive but maybe a tenderly non aggressive looking animal. From a field viewpoint in action it was a beast.
