I got complacent at Clearlake yesterday. The wind came up and I had to plow thru whitecaps to get to the launch.  Thankfully we have been fishing towards home all day and the final run was relatively short.  I pull the kayak on shore and felt it seem to take more effort.  Horsing it into my truck;  same thought.  Then I see the center hatch left ajar!   DUH!   I got home had had to empty my center bin which was full.  And sop up the hull with car washing towels.

I was basking in the glow of not skunking and forgot to secure the kayak for the very wet ride in.

Lesson learned/reminded. Phew!

Thanks for the reminder DB.  Glad things didn't get worse due to the unsecured hatch.

That was a mistake I made that sank me at GS3 on a calm day and I had to be rescued  :smt005 Thanks for the reminder!  What kind of kayak do you have btw?
