How good do you think that cam would be for swimming & shooting surf video compared with iPhone?

The main thing about iPhone is it’s quality of video and if you put duck tape in the right places they can take the saltwater. Downside is sometimes the iPhone touchscreen does whacky unpredictable stuff in the water like changing focus or stopping right in the middle of a clip

I think it depends on whether or not you want to shoot in 360 degrees, or not. The X4 is perfect for what I'm doing because I can just turn it on and then go back in the software and choose what I want to the video to show.
In your instance you probably have specific shots and angles you'd like to cover and can set the camera up ahead of time. That being said - the surf footage I've seen recorded with the 360 X4 has been amazing.

The Insta Ace Pro2 and Go S3 are also pretty cool cameras and are a bit cheaper than the X4, but don't record 360 degrees. I'm tempted to get an Ace Pro 2 for its low light ability, but I've been spending way too much money on this crap. (But memories are priceless, right?)

I'm just going to keep dumping videos here.

I know this one is long af, but I like watching long videos so I'm making long videos. This is from a quick camping trip I took on Monday night up near Stonyford. I ended up staying at South Fork Campground for $5 and had the place to myself. If you have no patience you can skip to the last few minutes to see the campground.

Watch it with your morning coffee on full screen 4k.

I was bored last night so I re-edited this video.

It's so cool how it seamlessly lets you pan around and see from any direction.  I saw some recent videos of 360 on a kayak, and wow it's like your right there with the yaker!

Yeah, it's pretty sweet. Makes me want to go out and get more footage and try different angles and mounting solutions. I was going to head up to Shasta this past weekend, but didn't want to hit the trails solo with this much rain.

Skip to the 5 minute mark in the video above and you'll see a group site on the right that would be sweet for a WheelNChill. Even the campground at the end of the video has enough room for quite a few cars and it's only $5 a night. It's a paved road to the campsites, so anyone that wanted to come could camp and hop in someone else's ride to hit the trails.
