i have not been there, but a coastsider [delfina] told me it looked suitable for a kayak.

I know ethan has launched from treasure island a couple times.  It gets you straight into deeper water of the bay, but the current also rips there - easilly faster than you can paddle.  If you launch there make sure that the top/bottom of the tide is about half-way to time you want to land at so it'll take you both ways.
