Wolf94 and I are hitting the forebay this Sunday 10/27. Planning to launch 7am. Received word that the Striper are hitting big time with frequent boils on and off all day. Lots of small ones but if you put in your time, keepers can be had.

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Ron, I'm planning to cast Topwater Plugs, Paddle Tails and Jerk Baits depending on what I see and mark on the FF.  Do you use the squid and minnows to bait fish or drift them?

If your in boils the rip baits, swim baits, rattle traps, plugs-n-jugs  :smt044 all would be fun to be tossing.  But it is really easy to drift/troll around a minnow there too, pickup at Coyote Bait or in Santa Nella.

I've only fished it once and got skunked. Apparently live minnows were the way to go since the fish were on the bottom at that time and not very active.

This sounds fun, the winter is the only time I like to fish the forebay.  But I have to retrieve my Hobie Cat from the beach this weekend.   :smt009

How'd it go?  I wanted to try to join in, but ended up having trailer issues that prevented me from RSVPing

The fishing kinda sucked for me. Missed a few and only landed 3. 2 were dinks and the other right at 18". Let it go cause it was too close to call. Fish all came on a white paddle tail. Two by the power line islands and one by station 12. The weeds where really bad. My buddy landed several using an Umbrella rig. It was a gorgeous day to be on the water though so it made the trip worth while. Going to hit Collins lake this Saturday if anyone is interested.
