I camped with my wife and 14 year old son at Limeliln Sunday 10/07, we stayed at #5 next to
the ocean, it is a short walk to the launch.
We fished both days and had a great time catching olives, blues, vermilion, a dark red rock
greenling, a couple of other varieties, and had a nice ling to the boat but lost it. On Sunday I kept 5 for dinner and released 15+. Most of the fish were caught north of Lucia in the kelp beds on swim baits,
megabaits, and shrimp flys with squid added. Caught a few out towards Pt. Lopez too. It was
wide open blues if you wanted, they were jumping out of the water after the jigs. The water
was very nice. No problems at the campground except my wife got scolded for having the puppy off the leash at the beach.

Funny we both post a Limekiln report inside 30 minutes of each other! Seeing your report just makes me want to go back all the more before the fall weather goes away. I think I need a couple of sick days.. quick.

Steve

:smt118  Great report, I'm green with envy. I was only able to drive by Mill creek/Limekiln this year. Hopefully  I can make down before the end of season. :smt066

Looked like perfect conditions and great weekend all around.  I also hope to make one last trip before the season closes.

Geez... those State Park Rangers are a bunch of killjoys.  Getting on you guys over a puppy off leash sucks.  I hope  your family and pup had a good time despite that.

Had a great time at Limekiln 3 times this season and no hassles from the rangers. In fact they were quite friendly. Of course I didn't have a dog with me.

Great report and photos, JohnK.  Glad you got out and had fun.   A scolding sounds better than a ticket if she was breaking the rules!  :smt001

The rangers were super cool when we went down for Chefs memorial too.  I think he has brought calm to the Kiln.

Good to know that Condition in pics looks better than forecast on the days.
Rangers were nice too, when I visited in Aug. Infamous G* ranger seems  transferred to somewhere else.
