Kayak fished Friday . Cold windy in morning, rained last night. A few hits, no sticks. Mostly sand bass.  Been cold and windy, even though the forecast is for hot.

Thanks for the report Bill.

Mission bay seems hit and miss, San Diego Bay more reliable...though the boats are bigger

Shoot down Nimitz to Shelter Island!

That is a convenient spot for Mission Bay.  have you hit up the bait barge in Quivera Basin?  I've had some luck near and under the bridges.

The area between the MB Jetty, Dog Beach and OB Pier has always looked fishy to me, but the tides have not worked in my favor to try that out.  Tidal changes in the narrow/long entrance makes for some real work if going against the tide.

I’ve had some pretty good luck in Mission Bay targeting spotties.  They fish just like the delt and bay, on an incoming tide the fish will move up shallower and on an outgo they’ll move out a bit deeper or into water that still has current and bait. I’ll troll a luck craft 110 around the grass flats and around points to get located.  When I get a fish I’ll pick the area apart with a 3” swimbait, picklekicks in a white/silver on a warbaits head is usually the go to.

About 5 miles of peddle today.   All the way to Seaforth and the bait barges, for nada.   Get back to near home and get a very nice corvina.  Well, got it to the yak, and lost it at retrieving time.
