Just in case you are not familiar with Moss Landing, you want to pay careful attention to the tide, as on a big tide swing, the current can flow faster than you can paddle (or pedal). The wind can also surprise (in a very unpleasant way) there too. And it can be quite an intense washing machine at the jaws. Anyways, both tide and wind look pretty good for Saturday.

FWIW, it seems to me that the halibut bite might be better in Capitola and Santa Cruz right now. I've gotten a couple on the west side of SC recently, and today I saw a 40# halibut that a boater caught in Capitola (lots of limits too, according to the fish survey people at the dock).

If you have never been out of moss landing? I dont recomend it as your first outting for halibut. I second Santa cruz or Monterey. Curious as to your experience on the ocean and your safety gear?
