I can tell you I lost the biggest lingcod I have ever hooked while fishing on a black shrimp fly with a tip of squid.

Interesting.  I've never had a lingcod take a shrimp fly


I remember a photo of a lingcod caught on an open-ended wrench where a large j hook was attached to it. Sometimes they are not very picky. :smt005

Ha, I saw a you tube video a couple weeks ago with the same. I mean, is a cheap wrench less expensive than a diamond jig? Pretty similar shape/weight/color ... Maybe I should make one, haha.
