I have a friend visiting from Boston next weekend and he wants to go fishing. Can anyone recommend a good boat that is not a party boat?
I think someone posted about a boat that that went out of San Rafael or Tiburon but u can’t find the post.

Thanks!

Call captain Trent slate at Bite Me Charters.
He’s been killing it all season. He will put you on the fish. and he’s a great captain. Tell him his kayaking neighbor referred you over. He might be booked though, he has clients lined up solid.

Captain Khanh or Big C's Charters, they are both fishy.  Big C's is my recommendation.

If this guys fishes back east, don't go for striped bass, he will laugh at you. While we may not have Atlantic Salmon runs in that area of the country (some day when all the old textile and saw mills are off the rivers and a good stocking program they may return), our bass run 30-50 pounds on a good year.

Reviving this thread for recommendations for a private charter 4-pack or 6-pack in July or August. Two, maybe three, teenagers, and two adults. This group has been on a party boat before but would call themselves beginner anglers. They are staying in a downtown SF hotel so fisherman's wharf would be easy but they will have a car so Sausalito, HMB, Berkeley, etc. not out of the question. I'm thinking they will want to either fish SF Bay for halibut/striper or outside the bay for lingcod or maybe even salmon. I saw the older recs below and am searching fishing booker, too. Thanks for any recs.

Not sure what are you planning to target but definitely recommend Tyja.

If this guys fishes back east, don't go for striped bass, he will laugh at you.

Also, if they are from MD or VA, and you tell them that you are fishing for rockfish, they'll think that you are targeting stripers.
But oh, that magic feeling,
Nowhere to go,
Nowhere to go!
