The votes to include electric motors passed the votes to not include them by 1 whole vote!  :smt044

I knew it would be a little divisive, but I was surprised that there was only a 1 vote difference.

If you have an electric and want to play in AOTY you are welcome to.

Sweet, thanks for updating. I'm definitely curious to see how the rankings go.

By proxy would Sail Power also be allowed in the standard entry?

When submitting an entry, it still asks whether it was caught on a "sail kayak", so it looks like the sail division remains separate. IMHO, it would make more sense to have a combined sail/motor division, separate from a strictly human-powered yaks division.

Just remember: if you use a motor, you must register your craft AND display the issued registration numbers on the hull.

Al I was poking around looking at old entries and i wasn’t really able to tell when sail entries were actually caught while sailing or if somebody just accidentally clicked the sail box.

I’m all for just letting everyone be in the same class, but I don’t want to rock the boat too much by changing too many rules at once.

yah, to me sailing is more of a challenge than motoring - so should also be included.

This is the truth, sail != motor  :smt044

Motors are definitely an advantage as far as getting to and from a fishing spot. I think there should be a 100pt or 200pt seasonal handicap applied to those with motors. I also think there should be a 100 to 200 point seasonal bonus given to those who fish with the added difficulty of having dogs on the back of their kayaks. This may not be a popular opinion.

Thanks for including.
I definitely will participate as a result.
And I definitely will be of no threat to any hardcore competitors.
