Sean and I have reached our limits of the amount of time we can go to Tomales Bay without catching a halibut for 2007.

We launched at around 8 am and had a hard time making bait. We eventually made bait and began hunting the illusive devil fish. I ended up with two dog sharks and rain on my head.

Hate is a strong word, but if I go for halibut again (7th time) with no results, I may have to use that word!

Good company and good snacks off the water in Tomales!

CHEERS!

Reminds me of some folks pursuit of elusive sturgeon.  I wish halibut were as easy to catch as sturgeon   :smt013

Nice report.  Psyche-headline of the month!

'But hunting sounds like salmon trolling, but the eventual payoff is that much better...  :smt001

I can't make it to BAM3, Dan.  Thanks for asking.  I'm sure Sean will host an awesome event.  Maybe I'll pop in for a cameo, as I'm on 101 alot lately...

No halis yesterday, but I ended myseason at Tomales 3 butts for 6 trips, not too bad.  The water temp has tanked, and I'm calling it over for the year.  The really nice thing is while we got skunked, we did so in a gorgeous spot where we surrounded by singing loons and bugling Elk.  At one point Dan said "...its like a $%@& nature show out here." Indeed.

Not to rub it in or anything  :smt002, but I got two butts for the two trips I did out there this week. Been too busy to post it. I'll see if I can post the details later tonight.

Nah, that is just a red wine filter. You know, so when you get to the bottom of that last glass from the bottle of fine wine you don't end up choking on the crystals that are left. Right Van? (I mean Dan)
