Had the chance to head out to Davenport this morning with Allen Bushnell.

I had never been there, but is a sweet launch.  Conditions were less than ideal however.  Sort of a messed up crosswise swell of 4 feet or so (I am a horrible judge) with wind chop.

We got out and turned right and started fishing at the edge of the kelp.

In a short while I caught a greenling, but as I was trying to measure it (It would have been legal, I was just making sure) the little bugger wiggled free.

After that I started puking, again..... Dammit!  Curse the Gods for making me a seasick fisherman!

I headed in to wait for a day with better conditions.

The fish I caught came on my "meat" stick.....50# spectra topped with 15# fluoro and baited with a 3 1/2 oz. megabait spoon on  a Ugly Stik Tiger with a penn 501L, so it wasn't much of a fight with a 13" greenling.  Beautiful fish though.  I didn't get a picture.  I didn't trust my sick self with the conditions.

I got a big strike on that jig as I was heading in, but it didn't stick.

Allen is a cool guy and I'm glad I got to fish with him again.
