Oh man, I've had it three times and each time it got worse.  One time I went swimming in a cove of Lake Don Pedro in the spring time.  That year the rains had been particularly bad.  After a few days I started getting boils on different parts of my body.  One on my thigh, one of my ankle, one of my back...etc.  Totally random.  Oh yeah, I got it on my "three piece china" as well.  I was freaking out and finally went to a dermatologist.  It turns out that the heavy rains had washed some plants from the hills into the lake and little droplets of oils were in the cove where I swam.  That explains all the boils in the disparate parts of my body.  After that I was known as itchy dicky to my fishing buddies.  I avoid it now like I avoid the salad bars at the restaurants.
