It was good getting to talk to you on the radio. I think every time you moved I moved and never got to fish together. Oh well.

I landed 2 halibut. 1 at 27 and one that was the biggest halibut I have ever seen in my life. Had it netted and in my lap. Tried to get the game clip ready and she saw a chance and managed to flip free. So she’s still down there. Easily over 40” based upon my last 40” halibut. Damn. Sam got some pictures of it in my lap before it flipped free at least. The net is a 32” hoop and the fish is folded in half to fit in it  :smt009

Dang that's tough loosing a big fish like that.  :smt009. I never trust them until they are clipped and they scare the heck out of me when they come back to life in my lap.

Did you scream like the time I lost mine 40+ Halibut?  :smt003

Nooooooo !

Not the pic before the game clip.  :smt002

Lost a few fish trying to get the pic first.

Either way, must have been a rush just to get the halibut to that point.

Wow!!!  Now that’s a fish.  The one and only BIG halibut I landed came back to life once on the game clip.  It thrashed and the game clip point slashed my left palm.  Produced a small scar I forgot about until reading your post…
We're gonna need a bigger boat!

It was nice to chat with you on the radio too John. And yeah- seems like we were all moving randomly that day. I had a long drive home so had to leave early. But wish we could fish together! Sorry about that door mat.. what a bummer.. on the flip side (no pun intended) you’ll remember it better than a fillet .. so maybe it’s better

Thank you!

I went anyway. It was good enough in patches here and there.  :smt002
