Excellent story - damn fine fish, too. Congratulations and thanks for the heads-up on the out-of-the-water antics.

Congratulations Shimmy!  Well done!  I hope I can make time for one more crack at them soon.  They've eluded me this year as well, with the exception of one shaker.  Glad you finally got yours.

Erik... give Paradise a try.  My buddy caught a 40 pound / 46" halibut straight out from the Paradise pier on Labor Day.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Chuck! The new business venture has me pretty stressed out. Especially since it makes it harder to get out. I really want to finish out my fish list though. I was really torn over going to Paradise or Tomales. But Tomales won out because its closer and bait is easy to make.
Are you ready for Montezuma again?

Dustin the water was flat and wind was low when I started but picked up in the afternoon, not as much as usual though. It was nice not getting blown all over hell and struggling to paddle against the wind. For some reason the water was also dirtier than a few days before.
