Welcome, Ron

Many NCKA members are divers or ex-divers.  I used to be freediving, but after the closing of the abalone season, I lost interest and converted to kayak fishing.
Since I started kayak fishing, my wife joined, and we typically go together using our tandem kayak.
In spring, the most popular target fish is halibut.  Many kayakers are chasing them at Oyster Point, Alameda Rock Wall, and Tomales Bay.
In summer/fall, many people switch to rockfish.  However, due to the reduced rockfish season, I don't know how that will affect kayak fishermen.
You can learn fishing techniques by watering popular YouTube: MooMoo Outdoors, Diehard, and The Lost Anchovies...

I will invite you to a rockfishing trip once the Sonoma coast opens on July 16th.

Welcome! Also a newbie over here. I've been out at Alameda Rock Wall a few times to try my luck at halibut. Has been a good place to start to learn the ropes.
