I went out this last weekend to fish a river near the yosemite boundary. The weatherman was off by a few hours about the conditions so there was some rain with a lottle lightning at the start but it turned into a nice day with some pretty steady action.

Beautiful country. I miss the sound of the rushing stream, the sight of a promising pool or run and  of course the feel of a tug on a 4 wt. Thanks for the video! :smt006

Excellent day on the water and good action! That water sure looks gin clear and enticing. Definitely need to plan a trip up there. Any general areas you recommend w/ decent access and no concern for bears :) ?

I really enjoy merced river around El portal. The access os great but you will run into bears once in a while. The odds of the bears ever being a problem are obviously really low but possible.

What a pleasant and relaxing video to watch! Thanks for sharing it.

Have you ever tried or considered fishing a Tenkara on that river? I would think it would be a perfect place for it!

I haven't tried a ten Kara before but I have seen a few guys using them here before with success.

Thanks for the rec. Looks like just under a 4 hour drive for me coming from SF and worthy of staying overnight somewhere. Maybe Mariposa for a cheap motel? :) Hmm, maybe Dry Gulch campground. Fish from the campground would be bomb!

Beautiful river and fish. Nothing better than a little stream time.
